Suicide is one of the leading causes of death amongst Australian males. How are we supposed to solve this issue, if we can’t even talk about it? This documentary scratches the surface of stigma and discrimination against mental health, and the repercussions in which it causes. Australia Day Young Hero of the Year, Rick Gatenby, shares his story and creation of innovative online aid for his local youth in Western Sydney’s ‘Hills District’. By sharing his own personal struggles through depression and suicide, his online writing & presence have become a role model, inspiration and friend to those in need. His ideas surrounding overcoming stigma in the digital age gain credibility when Greg Pearson, highly renowned Psychiatrist, adds his professional opinion to the conversation.
